Special Gazette No. 453/28 dated 12-05-1987 of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Mr. R. Premadasa, who was the Minister of Local Government and Housing at that time, announced that the area described in Schedule 1 below, as per the Pradesiya Shaba Act No. 15 of 1987 It has been declared to be a Pradesiya Shaba area for the performance of its duties and it has been declared that a Pradesiya Shaba has been established for the area within the administrative limits specified under Schedule 11 and given the name

Galigamuwa Pradesiya Shaba.

Administrative limits of Pradeshiya Shaba

To the North:
North-West and Sabaragamuwa provincial boundaries, from the point where it meets the boundary of Waddeniya Grama Niladhari Division of Warakapola Divisional Secretariat Division and the boundary of Halamada Grama Niladhari Division along the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Boundaries (Mah Oya Center Line) to the point where it meets the boundary of Rambukkana Divisional Secretariat Division, and from there southward to Rambukkana. By a line drawn along the Divisional Secretariat Division boundary until the point where it meets the Kegalle Divisional Secretariat Division boundary boundary,

To the East:
From the last mentioned point southwards along the boundary line of Kegalle Divisional Secretariat Division to the point dividing Gurulawela Village Officer Division, Kabagamuwa Village Officer Division and Kinigama Village Officer Division,

to the Right :
By a line drawn from the last mentioned point towards the west along the boundaries of Bulathkohupitiya Divisional Secretariat Division to the point where it meets the boundaries of Yatianthota Divisional Secretariat Division,

To the West:
From the last mentioned point northward along the boundary of Yatianthota Divisional Secretariat until the point where it meets the boundary of Warakapola Divisional Secretariat, and from there northward along the boundary of Warakapola Divisional Secretariat until it meets the boundary of North-West and Sabaragamuwa Provinces.
